“30 sports in 30 days" is here and I’m trying some new sports and hopefully improving on some that I have tried before!
As well as a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in organising an event, has entered as an individual or a team, who has donated, is supporting or has made suggestions, I’d like to say a massive thank you to those who have also sponsored days. With the kind generosity from those sponsors and for the Z Zurich Foundation for matching the donations, we hope to raise a lot of money for Parkinson's UK. I'd also like to thank Everyone Active, Newbury Road Club, San Shou Kuan Martial Arts Watford and Steve McAvoy and the team at Silchester who have gone above and beyond with either organising a special session or inviting myself and the local Parkinson's UK branches along.
All the details regarding the sports I am taking part in can be found here
The Everyone Active Podcast got me talking about exercise and Parkinson’s along with Alastair Macfarlane. Great to learn more about their free membership and services for people with Parkinson’s.
Special donation received
Thank you to Mark Heasman for his donation of a book celebrating 40 years of British Sport that was sent to John Major in 1993when he was the UK’s Prime Minister. Many of the images in the book are signed by heroes including Roger Bannister, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton and Tessa Sanderson. We will be arranging an auction of the book soon. If you’d like to be kept informed, please just let me know.
